"Autistics Speaking Day"

Today is "Autistics Speaking Day". To find out more about it, go here.

To read an interesting point of view about "Autistic" versus "people with autism", go here.

And now for just a sprinkling of what's being spoken by my resident Autistic son today:

"Have breakfast!" (These are his first words today and EVERY day.)

"There's Mom!"

"Have a snack?"

"Go see Ms. Kristen and Caleb today!"

"Doesn't work." (Sock was not on properly; Hanes label was on the top of the toes, which is apparently unacceptable.)

"Have a sip?"

"Have a bath..."

"Go outside!"

"Two plus eight is... TEN!"

"BYE MOM!"

There are a million more things The Boy wants me to know, I'm sure. And we're getting there.

I am so very lucky.
